Scott Thiessen is a design engineer (UX engineer/design technologist) based in Seattle, Washington.

Over the past 20 years, Scott has assembled a diverse portfolio of creative work for cultural institutions and companies large and small—including The Art Institute of Chicago, SFMOMA, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, KEXP, Amazon, MoPOP, Space Needle, Cinerama, MOHAI, University of Washington, Henry Art Gallery, and The Seattle Public Library. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, SXSW, SEGD, Webby Awards, FWA, Taschen, IDCA, and others.

Currently, he is a Senior Design Technologist at Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab. Previously, he was Senior Developer at Belle & Wissell, Co and BKWLD (now Goodness), a Designer & Developer at If/Then and CrashShop studios, and operated his own web studio, Varyable. He has also taught interactive media courses at the School of Visual Concepts and Seattle Pacific University.

In his downtime, Scott enjoys hiking/biking/running trails, doing some very modest woodworking, and exploring the patterns/puzzles in nature.
