Scott Thiessen is a design-minded front end developer and creative technologist based in Seattle, Washington.

Over the past 14 years, Scott has assembled a diverse portfolio of creative work for cultural institutions and companies large and small—including The Art Institute of Chicago, SFMOMA, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, KEXP, Amazon, MoPOP, Space Needle, Cinerama, MOHAI, University of Washington, Henry Art Gallery, and The Seattle Public Library. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, SXSW, SEGD, Webby Awards, FWA, IDCA, and others.

Currently, he is Senior Developer at Belle & Wissell, Co where he creates interactive media installations for museums and public spaces. He also teaches introductory web development courses for design students at the School of Visual Concepts. Previously, he was a Senior Interactive Developer at Bukwild, a Designer & Developer at If/Then and CrashShop studios, and operated his own web studio, Varyable.

Scott enjoys early morning hikes, late afternoon naps, extended bike trips, and exploring the patterns found in nature through code.
